Refund policy

Draft. Sikhaku has not launched. This policy describes how refunds are designed to work and will be finalised, with legal review, before any real sale.

Buying a course online usually means trusting a stranger and hoping. A stated refund policy is the cheapest way for us to be worth trusting — so this one is deliberately simple.

1. The refund window

Fourteen days from purchase, if you have watched less than 25% of the course.

Downloading lessons does not count as watching them — download whatever you like and decide later. The threshold exists so that someone cannot finish an entire course and then ask for their money back, which would make publishing here untenable for creators.

2. How to request one

• Open the course in your library
• Choose Request refund and tell us briefly why
• We review it, usually within two working days
• Approved refunds return by your original payment method, typically within five working days

You never have to contact the creator. Sikhaku is the merchant of record, so the refund is our responsibility, and we would rather you did not have to negotiate with someone whose course you are about to leave.

3. What qualifies

• The course is materially different from its description or syllabus
• Lessons are missing, corrupted, or will not play
• You were charged twice for the same course
• You bought the wrong course by mistake and have barely started it
• The course was abandoned before the advertised material was complete

4. What does not

• You have watched more than 25% of the course
• More than fourteen days have passed
• You changed your mind about the subject rather than the course being misdescribed
• The course was free
• Repeated refund requests suggesting the policy is being used to consume courses free

If your situation falls outside these rules but you think it is genuinely unfair, email support@sikhaku.com. We would rather look at it than hide behind a rule.

5. What creators should know

• A refund reverses the sale in full. Sikhaku takes no fee on a sale in the first place, so there is nothing for us to keep on a refunded one.
• If you had already been paid out, the amount carries as a negative balance into your next payout run. It never becomes a debt you have to settle separately.
• The refund reason is recorded and shown in your dashboard, because the pattern of reasons is usually the most useful feedback you will get.
• An unusually high refund rate triggers a conversation with us, not an automatic penalty.
